Ben Korman, Founder and CEO of Lotus Equity Group, is a veteran property manager, owner and investor with more than 30 years of industry experience. Mr. Korman leverages his training and hands-on experience in civil engineering and structural design to create, plan and develop large-scale, mixed-use developments that complement and enhance their surrounding neighborhoods. Notably, Mr. Korman is the driving force behind the 11.8-acre redevelopment of the former Bears Stadium site in Newark, NJ. His vision to build a well-planned, multi-faceted, mixed-use development in the emerging Broad Street corridor of Newark has brought together some of the country’s most renowned, forward-thinking architects to create Riverfront Square. Newark’s most ambitious development project, Riverfront Square will encompass more than 500,000 square feet of commercial office space, approximately 2,000 residential units, 10,000 square feet of open public space, a new cultural venue and new local retail spaces in the heart of Newark. Prior to founding Lotus Equity Group, Mr. Korman was a Co-founder of C&K Properties, which has owned and operated over five million square feet of office, residential, industrial and retail properties in New York, New Jersey and surrounding major metro areas. Mr. Korman led C&K’s value-add and redevelopment efforts, most notably in Midtown South. Under his leadership and direction, the company completed numerous public private partnerships, including the 1.3 million-square-foot redevelopment of Pier 40. Mr. Korman holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel and an MBA from Stern School of Business at NYU. He is a native Israeli who moved to the United States in 1985.
